Meet Caroline

Your counsellor and adoptee specialist
Are you seeking support and understanding on your therapy journey or maybe you have had therapy before? Meet Caroline Spiers, a BACP (British Association Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and Australian Counselling Association accredited counsellor since 2009. With a wealth of experience and a commitment to walking alongside individuals on their therapeutic journey, Caroline is here to support you with empathy, patience, understanding and compassion, always through a trauma lens.
I believe in truly listening and supporting people according to their individual history with an emphasis on building strengths and facilitating self exploration and understanding. I have worked with a wide range of issues including specialist support for people affected by adoption (I have lived experience as an adoptee and a large part of my client work is with adoptees), anxiety, depression, couples work, neurodiversity, LGBTQI+ issues, poly families, addiction and trauma.
Adoptees: A personal and professional journey
Caroline brings a unique perspective to her practice as a specialist supporting people affected by adoption, both as an adoptee herself and as someone who has dedicated her practice to working with adoptees. She understands the complexities, internalised pain and struggle that comes with being an adoptee, offering you the insight and compassion needed to survive and manage this unique trauma experience.

Caroline is committed to providing a queer friendly, inclusive space for every person. She has experience working with people who are part of the LGBTQI+ and poly communities, ensuring that your unique journey and challenges are respected, heard and understood. You can trust Caroline to provide a non-judgmental, supportive space where you can be your authentic self.
